If you bounce files in Logic when using DAE (Digidesign Audio Engine), under certain circumstances, the files may produce only static, making them unusable. This issue occurs if you set Logic to use DAE and set the recording format to Wave. In this scenario, bounced files will sound like static, regardless of the format (AIFF, WAV, or SD2) that you select for the bounce.
To resolve this issue, update to Logic Pro version 7.1.1 or later, available at Apple Downloads.
If you can't update immediately, the workaround is to set Logic to use AIFF or SD2 as the recording format. You can then select any format when bouncing.
