Troubleshoot situations in which dropped frames occur when video is stored via Xsan media. "Dropped frames" refers to frames of video that are unintentionally skipped during capture, editing or playout.
The workstation is unable to properly control the transfer of each frame of video
Suggestions for avoiding dropped frames related to workstation limitations:
* Ensure that your workstation meets your multimedia software’s minimum system requirements and that the computer’s hardware is configured for optimal performance.
* If possible, dedicate the workstation to running only the multimedia application. Running other services or programs may detract resources from the multimedia software.
Video clips stored on an Xsan volume are not consistently available to the workstation
Suggestions for avoiding dropped frames related to fibre communication issues:
* Ensure that available bandwidth is greater than required bandwidth.
* Ensure that fibre channel connectivity is not being disrupted.
* Ensure that Xsan is configured for optimal performance.
